Nuclear and radiological threats are real, from smuggling of radioactive sources to Radiological Dispersal Devices (RDD) or “dirty bombs”. The NuVISION gamma camera enables to identify, localize and quantify such a threat in real time and respond before it is too late.

The ability to see nuclear threats on your video image. Securing critical infrastructure, Major Public Events (MPE) and borders has become a bigger focus over the last few years. The NuVISION gamma camera is the only solution that will precisely locate the nuclear threat from a distance, including in the middle of a large crowd. NuVISION is fully integrated into Security Center to immediately spot the radioactive source on the image and trigger an alarm based on the type of isotope detected. For example, Security Center will display a green alarm for isotopes used in medical diagnostic and a red alarm for obvious criminal act that will be critical in the type of response to roll out.

Securing critical infrastructures

Securing critical infrastructures from nuclear threats. Sites where safety is paramount, such as airports or train stations, monitor risks from weapons or explosives. However, few of them are taking radiological risks into account, and where they do, the current technologies used are unable to locate threat is coming from, what kind of radiological risk is at present and provides all the data onto the Security Center platform required to trigger the appropriate emergency response.

Securing major public threats from nuclear threats. Large events such as the Olympic Games or World Cup represent a target for terrorist attacks. Hence, they should be secured from conventional explosive threats and potentially risk of a dirty bomb using radioactive material to produce an even greater impact. The NuVISION Gamma Camera can spot such a threat from distance, or within a large crowd and send an immediate alarm and position of the threat to Security Center for immediate response.

Securing borders from incoming radioactive sources. Whether at ports, airports, or borders, it is essential to fight against radioactive source smuggling and trafficking. The NuVISION Gamma Camera can identify and locate strong radioactive sources in containers, cargo or cars and prevent traffickers from causing harm later. Security Center will trigger an alarm and display the exact location and identification of the radioactive source.
